Must-See Summer Vacation Sites in Antipolo City

The Philippine heat isn’t going anywhere soon. If you’re looking for a way to escape the rising temperatures, there are plenty of places near your Celestis 1 home for you to check out. One of which is Antipolo City, which is located just several minutes away from the city of Manila.

The capital city of Rizal province is a premier weekend getaway destination for city dwellers. One of the reasons it’s a popular vacation spot is its cooler climate and scenic views of the Manila skyline.

Antipolo sits at the foot of the Sierra Madre mountain range and boasts an elevation of 137-meters above sea level, which is what gives it its lush, breezy environment. If you’re planning to visit Antipolo City anytime soon, here are a few must-see summer vacation sites you need to visit.

Pinto Art Museum

Pinto Art Museum is an exhibition space and art museum located on a two-hectare estate designed by Filipino artist Antonio Leaño. The space is home to hundreds of contemporary local artworks by distinguished artists such as Elmer Borlongan, Mark Justiniani, and Marina Cruz, among others.

The Gallery 7 wing of the space was recently opened to visitors. It houses even more contemporary Filipino installations and artworks. Within the complex, there’s also a garden called Silangan Garden, a cafe called Cafe Rizal by Peppermill, a museum shop, and a tattoo shop.

Cloud 9

Cloud 9 is a sports and leisure club that’s most known for its hanging bridge and viewing deck. These facilities offer a scenic view of Metro Manila, which is even more gorgeous in the evening. Besides the viewing deck and bridge, the complex also has swimming pools, sports and leisure facilities, a zip line, and a restaurant with a viewing deck.

You can admire even more art here, as the walls of the building are adorned with art installations, paintings, and wood carvings created by local artists. There’s also a towering 29-foot long mural of the image of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage and various pilgrimage sites.

Hinulugang Taktak

Hinulugang Taktak is perhaps one of Antipolo’s most popular natural attractions. The site features a lush forest, a natural waterfall, and a Marian shrine. It’s an excellent location for taking a break from the city’s hustle and bustle.

There are also numerous outdoor activities to enjoy if you’re the adventurous type. These facilities include a hanging bridge, swimming pool, wall climbing facilities, a suspended platform over the waterfall, and a meditation area.

Philip's Sanctuary

Philip’s Sanctuary is an eco-adventure mountain resort with several fun outdoor activities and leisure facilities. It’s the ideal place for family trips, team-building events, celebrations, and workshops. There’s even a chapel where you can host a wedding or a large get-together. The agro-forestry farm section hosts tree planting events and campsite activities where you can stay the night.

Those who plan to stay overnight can choose to stay in dorm-style accommodations or simple huts as well. You can also look forward to waking up with a breakfast treat with typical Filipino breakfast food like longsilog and tapsilog. After a hearty breakfast, you can then enjoy numerous outdoor activities like zip lining, biking, hiking, and kayaking.

Mount Purro Nature Reserve

Can’t get enough of the lush greenery of Antipolo City? Then hit up Mount Purro Nature Reserve, a family-run eco-park that encourages guests to enjoy the fresh outdoors. The resort features spacious rooms with everything you need for a comfortable stay, such as air-conditioning units, television, and free internet access.

Outside, you can engage in several outdoor activities like river walking, camping, hiking, swimming, and tree planting. You also have access to the facilities’ game room, nature playscape, cabanas, and gazebos. When you get hungry, Loli’s Kitchen offers delicious Filipino dishes to satisfy your cravings. You’ll be dining in the restaurant’s cozy nipa huts with bamboo tables and wooden furniture.

All of these impressive summer vacation sites are just a few minutes away from your Celestis 1 home. You won’t have to travel far to get the best that the country has to offer.
